Paynesville is a charming village on the Gippsland lakes. It is located 298 kilometres east of Melbourne or 17 kilometres south of Bairnsdale, within the Gippsland Lakes.

Surrounded by the Gippsland lakes on three sides, the canals and inlets offer plentiful sheltered moorings for yachts, cruisers, anglers, windsurfers, jet skiers and water skiers.

Known as the boating capital of victoria, Paynesville is a popular seaside resort where you and your family can relax and make the most of the water-based activites available.

And if you're not just into water sports, there are other fascinating attractions nearby. Raymond Island, which has attractive shorelines and plentiful bushland, Paynesville Waterfront Aquamarine 1can be accessed either by boat or on the car ferry. Go "Koala" spotting or look for other native wildlife. Also close by is Eagle Point. Visit the Bluff or take a drive along the Mitchell River Silt Jetties - the second longest in the world.
